The stress is REAL when it comes to freelance life and I’ve really been feeling it lately 😭

It seems to be an endless cycle of applying for jobs and getting no reply, pitching yourself and being rejected, getting a lead, then being ghosted, and it’s EXHAUSTING to say the least.

But I’m not letting it stop me. It’s taking some time but I know something good is just around the corner, I can feel it 🥰

I have fallen WAY out of my routine over the past few weeks, so let’s get back on track 💻🌷☕️ Here’s a few things I did to get a bit more organised 👇

✍🏼 Tidied up my work space. My office is a mess at the moment and is still a mess, but my desk is tidy and that’s all that matters! A tidy desk is a tidy mind 🧘🏼‍♀️

📧 Tidied up the inbox! I had over 300 unread emails 😅

🍒 Got dressed! Putting a cute and colourful outfit on really motivates me to get things done ✔️ This @nextofficial jumper is my new fave 😍

☕️ Taking a brew up to my office is just 👌🏼

🥣 Had a healthy breakfast. Porridge is so good for keeping your energy levels up until lunch time!

Incredible book. Incredible story. Incredible woman. This book is truly inspiring.

From the start I felt like I was on her journey with her. Standing right beside her as she experienced every challenge, heart ache, love, accomplishment, and pitfall.

As a dancer myself from a young age, I immediately felt at home with this book. I could feel the emotion she felt around dance and the fire it evokes inside you. I took me back to my own days in the ballet studio and brought me such a sense of nostalgia and comfort.

From one of my all time favourite films Dirty Dancing, to my all time favourite TV show Gilmore Girls, Kelly Bishop has had a place in my heart since I was a child. I grew up watching her on my television screen, and now, as an adult, reading about her life means I can respect her work even more.

She built her career from the ground up, with a dream and a fire in her belly to succeed, and that’s exactly what she did. Her incredible drive to do what she loves, follow her passion, live, learn, and carry on no matter what, is what makes this book so inspiring.

She says, ‘Aren’t we lucky that there’s such a wide variety of dreams to choose from, and so many people to choose them?’ and it’s that gratitude for life that this book illustrates so beautifully.

I finished this book with a fire inside my belly. To appreciate the little things, look back with gratitude, and look forward with dreams and anticipation to do more.

Thank you Kelly Bishop for this beautiful memoir. I know for sure it will be one I turn to for years to come ❤️

Chapter 27 🎂📖 The most beautiful birthday weekend away with some of my favourite people 🥰

✨ We had a beautiful stay at the @lakesidehotelandspa in the Lake District and it was perfect 🫶🏻

🎂 Free chocolate, dessert, and sparklers 🎇

📕 I finished The Third Gilmore Girl and it was every bit as good as I thought it would be 🥺

Turning 27 was an emotional day for me, like all of my birthdays have been for the past couple of years. I get in my head about turning one year older, especially the closer I get to 30!

The prettiest bookshop you ever did see 🫶🏻📖 My first ever visit to @toppingsbath and it didn’t disappoint!

Finally making my way back to social media after taking a little hiatus for almost 2 months 🫣 Definitely did not plan for that to happen, but it was very much needed in the end!

The new year however, has started off well, so here’s hoping it continues!

I have so many ideas for where I want this account to go, and this is the year I’m going to make that happen. I want to focus more on writing and my freelance journey, sharing what it’s like to build a business from scratch, whilst also throwing in some bookish bits too 📚
